November Trip to the Red Stick

Here's my attempt at trying to catch up on the blog....

The week before Thanksgiving the HutcHison family set off on a road trip ... the first with Honor. We drove through the night and arrived at "Hotel Burchette" (aka my cousin's house outside of Nashville). While we were there, Henry & Honor enjoyed playing with Clark (& his cool toys). We also went to a really cool park ... while dad took a nap! That night we took off for the 2nd leg of the trip down ...

The Sunday before Thanksgiving we had Honor christened at First United Methodist in downtown Baton Rouge. It was a beautiful service ... although Henry enjoyed it from underneath the pew we were sitting in (at least he was quiet!). After church we went back to HutcH's mom's house (where his cousin, Mary, is now living ... and where we stayed for the visit) for a family party. On Monday we spent a BEAUTIFUL afternoon at HutcH's Uncle Mike & Aunt Pam's home on False River. Mike gave Henry a chance to drive the boat ... which he, of course, absolutely loved. Especially when he pushed the accelerator in full speed and caught all of us off guard!

Most of the week was spent having fun with family and eating local pizza or Chick-fil-a. We are forced to overindulge when we are there, because we can't get these foods in Michigan!!! Our trip to the Baton Rouge Zoo on Wednesday did allow us to walk off some of the calories.

Then, on Thanksgiving Thursday we went to HutcH's Aunt Ruby's & Uncle Steve's for lunch. Henry enjoyed the beautiful weather and flew a kite in the backyard. HutcH and I enjoyed the lunch ... because Steve generously held Honor for us!
On Friday, we made a trip to the LSU campus to see Mike the Tiger. He has a lovely new habitat. Here's a picture of "the boys" playing on the statue outside.

That evening we took off for Nashville for our return trip. We had a great time seeing family and being together.
